Press Release Summary: Woodford Land\'s clearance of 10-acre brownfield site in West
Midlands paves way for ambitious redevelopment scheme.

Press Release Body: The transformation of the Wolverhampton site formally home to
Monmore Iron Works and more recently occupied by Battery Rolled Metals, is underway
as Woodford Land complete the site clearance with the demolition of a 100ft chimney.

Part of the skyline for more than 50 years and a constant reminder of the area's
industrial heritage, the chimney\'s demolition on Wednesday this week marked a
significant moment in the redevelopment of Steelhouse Lane, Cable Street and
surrounding areas.

Woodford Land, the land acquisition and remediation division of Woodford Group PLC,
has undertaken the demolition as part of an exciting proposal to breathe new life
into an area identified as a key regeneration zone by Wolverhampton City Council and
All Saint and Blakenhall Community Development (ABCD).

\"The site has a long association with heavy industry and requires extensive clean up
and ground stabilisation work to enable the redevelopment of the site to take
place,\" said Jason Parkinson, Managing Director of Woodford Land, \"We look forward
to bringing the area into the 21st century and will be submitting planning
application in the next few weeks for a mixed use waterside development.\"

Proposals for the area redevelopment include the creation of a new canal basin along
with the construction of 181 dwellings comprising of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and
3 and 4 bedroom family housing located next to the Birmingham Canal.

The proposals also incorporate a 24,500sq ft commercial development which will see
the construction of new units with the capacity to generate more than 50 jobs.

Mr Parkinson continued: \"Thanks to Woodford Land\'s ability to call on considerable
in-house skills to develop a location, we can expect to contribute significantly in
rejuvenating the area with a project that could act as a catalyst to wider
regeneration objectives.\"
